ResQRoom→Jigra

Co-branded campaign · Film · 4 Oct 2024

Escape-room chain ResQRoom ran a Jigra tie-in across its centres, framing its rooms as rescue missions to match the film's plot, with a special video message recorded by Alia Bhatt for ResQRoom players.

Voltas→Badrinath Ki Dulhania

Product placement · Film · 2017

Placed by Brand Street India. The agency credited these four integrations with 60% business growth in the quarter, which is the closest thing on the record to what this end of the market is worth.

Co-branded campaign · Film · 20 Oct 2016

The '#AeDilLetsAirbnb' contest asked entrants to build a Wishlist of five Airbnb properties in London or Paris and name it cinematically; two winners each got three nights in one of the two cities with a guest, retracing the characters' on-screen route with Ranbir Kapoor's restaurant picks and Karan Johar's cafe and shopping recommendations. Johar spoke to it as the film's director.

Tinder→Dear Zindagi

Co-branded campaign · Film · 2016

Tinder's first Bollywood association. Alia Bhatt's character Kaira was published as a live profile on the app for Indian users to swipe on, a digital film had Kaira talking through dating with her on-screen best friend, and a Swipe Right contest sent winners to a Tinder-themed party with Bhatt. Tinder India head Taru Kapoor set out the reasoning herself.

Numero Uno→Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Co-branded campaign · Film · 2016

Numero Uno Jeanswear took Style Partner on the film and built its AW'16 line off Ranbir Kapoor's wardrobe - printed tees, denim shirts, casual wear - sold across all its Indian outlets, with a 30-second co-branded TVC made with Ranbir Kapoor and Dharma Productions and a Facebook contest that sent ten winners to meet him. MD Narinder Singh announced it.

Fox Traveller→Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Product placement · Film · 2013

Ranbir Kapoor's character Bunny is written as a Fox Traveller videographer, so the channel's name and role sit inside the story. Fox International Channels also sent its own crew with the unit to Manali, Mumbai, Udaipur and Paris, and ran a Facebook travel-story contest in Bunny's voice. Fox International Channels VP marketing Debarpita Banerjee and Kapoor both spoke on the record about the tie-up.

Jabong→Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Co-branded campaign · Film · 2013

Jabong.com was the film's exclusive online shopping partner and its first Bollywood tie-up: a Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani collection of tees, dresses, hot pants, footwear, sunglasses, watches and jewellery cut to Bunny's and Naina's looks, launched at a Four Seasons Mumbai event with Deepika Padukone, plus a digital contest that put ten winners in a meet-and-greet with her.

BSA→Student of the Year

Product placement · Film · 2012

BSA came on as the film's Official Bicycle Partner, its cycles placed in the cycling sequence that MiD DAY Entertainment's Vikram Kari said was a crucial part of the film and the reason the agency chased the brand off the script.

Show 1 more

Co-branded campaign · Film · 2012 · Reported value Rs 500,000

FedEx Express borrowed the film's title for a 'FedEx International Student of the Year' contest: students shipping a university application through FedEx competed for a Rs 500,000 sponsorship, a meeting with Karan Johar and USIEF counselling for ten shortlisted entrants, run off a microsite. FedEx's Rakesh Shalia set out the logic himself.
