What we collect and what we do with it

BrandMap collects two things: what you type into a sign-up form, and anonymous page statistics from Google Analytics. This page covers both. Last updated 7 October 2026.

Who we are

BrandMap is run by C4E, a marketing, content and events firm in Mumbai and Dubai. C4E decides what is collected here and why. For anything about your data, including a complaint, write to sg@c4e.in. We reply within 7 days.

Sign-ups

What we keep. When you fill in a form we keep your email, your name if you gave it, your role, your company, any link you added, the page you were on and what you asked for: following a brand or property, the Monday email, a page claim, a credit or a teardown. We note whether the email is a work address and sort the sign-up into brand side, organiser, agency or other, so the right person replies.

Why. To do what you asked. Two boxes, both unticked by default, record whether you want the Monday email and whether C4E may contact you about BrandMap. We write to you only about what you asked for. To stop, reply “unsubscribe” or write to sg@c4e.in.

What we never do. We never ask for a phone number. We do not sell your details, rent them or share them for anyone else's marketing.

How long. Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and no longer than 24 months after your last sign-up. Deletion requests are done within 7 days.

Analytics and cookies

What it measures. We use Google Analytics 4 to count which pages are read, how people arrive (a search, a link, a newsletter) and roughly where they are, by country and city. It tells us which brands and properties people look up, so we know what to check and add next. We do not send Google your name, email or anything you type into a form.

Cookies. Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<id>, to tell a returning browser from a new one. They last up to 2 years. BrandMap sets no other cookies.

What we switched off. Google signals and ad personalisation are off, so this data is not joined to your Google account or used for advertising. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.

How long. Google keeps the event data for 2 months. Totals such as page counts stay in reports after that, without anything tied to a browser.

How to turn it off. Use the switch below, block cookies in your browser, or install Google's opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.

Kept only in your browser. Your India or Gulf choice, your analytics setting and the pages you recently viewed are stored in your own browser's local storage. They never leave your device and you can clear them in your browser settings.

Where data is kept and who processes it

All three providers below are Google:

  • Sign-ups are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in Mumbai (asia-south1). Only C4E can read them.
  • Pages are served by Firebase Hosting from Google's global network, which handles your IP address to deliver each page.
  • Analytics is processed by Google Analytics, which may store data outside India and the UAE.

Google acts on our instructions under its data processing terms. When the Monday email starts, it will go through an email provider we will name here first.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and withdraw consent at any time, by writing to sg@c4e.in. Withdrawing consent stops future use; it does not undo what was done before. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India or, in the UAE, the UAE Data Office.

BrandMap is a business tool for marketers and is not meant for anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their details, write to us and we will delete them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who processes it, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. For how we source and check the data about brands, see How we check.
