Shaastra sponsors: IMC Trading took the title from NIOT, and the top three metals stayed put

Shaastra, the technical festival of IIT Madras, ran from 2 to 6 January 2026 with IMC Trading as its title sponsor. The fest's own sponsor page lists 52 sponsors and partners for that edition. Shaastra 2027 has no dates yet: the fest's site still shows the 2026 edition, and no 2027 sponsor has been announced. This list is part of our guide to college fest sponsors in India.

Who sponsored Shaastra 2026?

These are the brands and bodies on Shaastra's sponsor page for the 2026 edition, in the fest's order and with its tier words, spelling included. The first table holds the sponsors the fest lists first.

The rest of the 52 are official partners for one service each, from campus ambassador programme sponsors to snacks, transit and rooms. JioSaavn is the music streaming partner. See also our list of brands that sponsor the most college fests.

The money is public too. IIT Madras raised Rs 1.68 crore in sponsorship for the 2026 edition from industry and its alumni network, 29.4 per cent more than the year before, BusinessLine reported.

Who was the title sponsor of Shaastra 2026?

IMC Trading held the title slot. We found no press release from IMC or the fest about the deal; the fest's sponsor page is the only source. In 2025 the title belonged to NIOT, the National Institute of Ocean Technology, which IIT Madras's press release called one of the collaborators of that edition. NIOT is still on the 2026 list, as Imperial Sponsor.

Below the title, the fest also lists title sponsors for events inside the fest. Analog Devices has the RC title and Toyota Connected the RC associate title, MOSIP is associate title sponsor of the Digital Governance Summit, and IITM Pravartak holds the title of the Tech & Innovation Fair.

Which sponsors came back?

Comparing the fest's 2025 page with its 2026 page, 25 sponsors came back. Caterpillar stayed Diamond, IDFC FIRST Bank stayed Platinum and Bajaj Auto stayed Gold. Boeing kept Innovation Partner. IITM FedEx SMART Centre went from Silver to Titanium, and Appian from co-sponsor to Silver. L&T EduTech was a summit sponsor in 2025 and Larsen & Toubro is Growth Partner in 2026.

Among those that did not return are Temenos, which had the IndustriAI conference title in 2025, Avanse, Flipkart, Atomberg, The Hindu as media partner and Mirchi Tamil as radio partner. New in 2026 are IMC Trading, Toyota Connected, VISA, BNY, Bharat Electronics, India Post and British Council, among others. This is the 2025 list.

When is Shaastra 2027?

Shaastra 2027 has not been announced. The fest's website still carries the 2026 edition, with no 2027 dates, theme or sponsors. The 2026 edition ran from 2 to 6 January 2026, The Hindu reported, and IIT Madras expected it to draw over 80,000 visitors. The 2025 edition ran from 3 to 7 January 2025, The Hindu reported. The fest's own About text says it is held over four days and four nights.

We have also listed the sponsors of Saarang, Techfest and Techkriti.

Caterpillar, IDFC FIRST Bank and Bajaj Auto held the same metal both years. The title went from the National Institute of Ocean Technology to IMC Trading.

How we checked: the 2026 list comes from Shaastra's own sponsor page, read live on 28 October 2026. The 2025 list comes from the copy of the same page the Internet Archive saved on 21 January 2025; four 2025 entries are left out because the page's code does not make the brand or tier clear. Tier words are the fest's own, spelling included. Dates and visitor figures come from The Hindu and BusinessLine, the sponsorship figure from BusinessLine, and NIOT's role from IIT Madras.
