Name Our Crane

An emirate-wide public competition inviting UAE residents to suggest an Arabic or English name for a new 5,000-tonne floating sheerleg crane, before the name was engraved on it during fabrication. Entries ran to 4 August 2025 through a DP World microsite and were shortlisted by a panel of Drydocks World leadership, Emirati cultural figures and branding specialists. The prize was a signed full-size 2025 McLaren Racing helmet, tying the shipyard back to DP World's Formula One sponsorship.
