European Tour becomes the DP World Tour

The European Tour, founded in 1972, was renamed the DP World Tour from the 2022 season under a title sponsorship by the Dubai logistics group, which had already backed the season-ending event in Dubai since 2009. Chief executive Keith Pelley said the deal nearly doubled total prize money to more than 200 million dollars, with a minimum two million dollar purse across 47 events in 27 countries.
