The Christmas edition returned to Expo City for a third run, pitched at families with festive markets and a spread of dining from holiday comfort food to winter menus, and covered as one of Dubai's main Christmas outings for the season.

Expo City wrapped its year of public events into one branded season under the line 'One Destination, Every Celebration', spanning House of Arts, Dhai Dubai, the Festival of Cake, Winter City, Hai Ramadan, the Harvest Festivals and the Firdaus Orchestra. Dubai Post, part of Dubai Media, was signed as official digital media partner to produce the social storytelling around it.

Al Wasl Plaza was turned into a ticketed Christmas destination for December, opened by a giant tree lighting, with Santa's letterbox, a toy-factory walkthrough, elf workshops and revamped Carols by Candlelight performed by Expo City's all-women Firdaus Orchestra with local schoolchildren.
